forgiveness and a great reward

"Verily, the Muslims...:
1) the men and the women who are OBEDIENT (to Allah),
2) the men and women who are TRUTHFUL (in their speech and deeds),
3) the men and the women who are PATIENT
4) the men and the women who are HUMBLE (before their Lord Allah),
5) the men and the women who give SADAQAT,
6) the men and the women who observe FAST during Ramadan...
7) the men and the women who REMEMBER Allah much with their hearts
8) PRAY extra additional Nawafil prayers of night in the last part of night

Allah has prepared for them forgiveness and a great reward (i.e. Paradise). (33:35)

In Ramadhan, ALL of these qualities (humility, patience, obedience) are important for us in order for our fasts and worship to be accepted by Allah.

How can we achieve this?

* OBEDIENT: From gaining knowledge we learn how to obey. See: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Hasana/links/Islamic_Knowledge____001158166333/
* TRUTHFUL: Learn about the importance of honesty and justice http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Hasana/message/62
* PATIENT: Patience comes from test and trials. See the story of Taif: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Hasana/message/39
* HUMILITY: By helping others and being grateful through community service. http://www.thehungersite.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/CTDSites and http://www.habitat.org
* SADAQAT: Being grateful for our blessings and helping others. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Hasana/links/Islamic_Charities_001132295909
* REMEMBRANCE (DHIKR): Recitation & Supplications. http://www.geocities.com/mutmainaa/dua.html
* PRAY: Praying on time is important for our deen. See Prayer times: http://www.islamicity.com

Ramadhan gives us an opportunity to be dedicated to Allah. Each of us can develop a plan to benefit from and we can earn grace from God, the Almighty.

* Donate to charities.
* Improve and mend relations among friends and relatives.
* Try to break your fast with others.
* Donate an Islamic book to your local library
* Spend extra time with your family
* Invite non-Muslims and neighbors to your iftaars and gatherings

Also, try to utilize Ramadhan as a month to lose bad habits and start good ones!

* Eat healthy! Food tips for Ramadhan: http://www.crescentlife.com/spirituality/diet_during_ramadan.htm
* Stop Smoking! See: http://www.quitnet.com/
* Fasting during Ramadan: a Muslim Pharmacist's Perspective http://www.pharmj.com/Editorial/20011110/articles/ramadan.html

It is our duty to make the most of fasts and to make the most of Ramadhan.

Our Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said,
"Whoever does not give up lying and evil actions, then Allah is not in need of his leaving his food and drink” (Bukhari).

Finally, everything mentioned is from the advice of our Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

“O people there comes over you now a great month

1) A most blessed month in which lies a night more greater in virtue than a thousand months.
2) It is a month in which Allah has made fasting compulsory by day.
3) And has made Sunnah the Taraaweeh prayer by night.
4) Whosoever intends drawing near to Allah by performing any virtuous deed, for such person shall be the reward like the one who had performed a Fardh in any other time.
5) And whoever performs a Fardh, shall be blessed with the reward of seventy Faraidh in any other time. This is indeed the month of patience, and the reward for true patience is Jannah (paradise).
6) It is the month of sympathy with one’s fellowmen.
7) It is the month wherein a true believer’s sustenance is increased.
8) Whosoever feeds another who fasted, in order to break the fast at sunset, for the feeder there shall be forgiveness of sins and emancipation from the fire of Jahannam (hell), and for such feeder shall be the same reward as the one who fasted (who he fed) without that persons reward being decreased in the least…
9) This is a month, the first of which brings Allah’s mercy, the middle of which brings His forgiveness and the last of which brings emancipation from the fire of Jahan-nam.
10) And whoever gave a person who fasted water to drink, Allah shall grant that giver to drink from my fountain, such a drink where after that person shall never again feel thirsty until he enters Jannah."

Muslim Quotes: Fools Exult in Life

Fools exult in life while the pious prepare for the journey ahead. A major portion of their wealth is spent in God's way, and they themselves suffice with the bare minimum, striving toward the hereafter. They even sacrifice fine victuals confident in the faith that they shall be blessed with better in the hereafter. Even God cherishes them because of their conviction and devotion.

Steven Covey and his quotes

Quotes From Steven Covey

* Between stimulus and response, one has the freedom to choose.
* Don’t argue for other people’s weaknesses. Don’t argue for your own. When you make a mistake, admit it, correct it, and learn from it–immediately.
* Every human has four endowments- self awareness, conscience, independent will and creative imagination. These give us the ultimate human freedom… The power to choose, to respond, to change.
* Happiness can be defined, in part at least, as the fruit of the desire and ability to sacrifice what we want now for what we want eventually.
* If you’re proactive, you don’t have to wait for circumstances or other people to create perspective expanding experiences. You can consciously create your own.
* Live out of your imagination, not your history.
* Many people seem to think that success in one area can compensate for failure in other areas. But can it really?…True effectiveness requires balance.
* Our character is basically a composite of our habits. Because they are consistent, often unconscious patterns, they constantly, daily, express our character.
* Without involvement, there is no commitment. Mark it down, asterisk it, circle it, underline it. No involvement, no commitment.
* Management works in the system. Leadership works on the system. Effective people are not problem-minded; they’re opportunity minded. They feed opportunities and starve problems.
* One of the best ways to educate our hearts is to look at our interaction with other people, because our relationships with others are fundamentally a reflection of our relationship with ourselves.
* Begin with the end in mind.
* Paradigms are powerful because they create the lens through which we see the world.
* Each of us tends to think we see things as they are, that we are objective. But this is not the case. We see the world, not as it is, but as we are - or as we are conditioned to see it.

To Wake Up Early, Go To Bed Early

Need all this advise so that to teach my children wake up early for ramadhan...

Taking on the goal to wake up early while you keep going to bed after midnight is the way to failure. Not only you become frustrated soon, but it may seriously damage your health. Remember, your body needs time to rest! Going to bed early can be a problem in the beginning, but after you actually start waking up early, then falling asleep in the evening will become much easier. How often you can't fall asleep in the evening on a day when you woke up really late? Many people who have trouble waking up have solved their wake up problems with this simple technique.

The studies also indicated that how much you sleep before midnight is twice as important as the number of hours you sleep after midnight - one more reason to go to bed early.

Take this first step to self-improvement! Keep reading this blog for more tips for waking up and getting out of bed.

Remember that old nursery song?
Go to bed early -- wake up with joy;
Go to bed late -- cross girl or boy.
Go to bed early -- ready for play;
Go to bed late -- moping all day.
Go to bed early -- no pains or ills;
Go to bed late -- doctors and pills.
Go to bed early -- grow very tall.
Go to bed late -- stay very small

Leadership Wisdom from the Monk Who Sold His Ferrari, by Robin Sharma

Leadership Wisdom from the Monk Who Sold His Ferrari, by Robin Sharma

I deal with many organizations that struggle with "Growing Pains" and this book has really helped me coach them through some of those pains. Robin Sharma has a great way of telling a story that has meaning to all of us that work in the corporate world.

He doesn't make it too fluffy but puts real meat on the bones and teaches us through Julian Mantle (the main character in the book) a much better way of getting the best from our greatest assets "people".

He covers subjects like "link Paycheck to Purpose" which we know is a very simple thing to do as not everyone goes to work for the money or is motivated by money. He establishes very early on in the book that he does understand all the trappings that go on in corporate life and has broken away from it successfully but now feels that the time is right for him to give something back.

I particularly like the way he focuses on getting the best from your team and ways in which you can give ownership back to your people by involving and trusting them in the decision making process. Robin Sharma makes the book very easy to read and certainly something that doesn't wear you out just reading the title, as so many of these personal development books do.

Robin Sharma has hit the nail on the head here as he describes one of my favorite values in life "manage by mind, lead by heart". It is a great book but don't expect to read it in one sitting as it encourages you to practice each step as you read it. (*****)

Azizi Ali achieved his goal - inner peace

=================

==========

What inspired you to write books and share your knowledge and experience? Noor Farah Hanim Mohd Suffian, Kuala Lumpur

I love to write, and have been writing since I was in primary school. When I decided to become an author, the obvious subject was something that I was equally good at – money. And so I wrote Millionaires are from a different planet. It was a total blast.

I’m touched to hear that my books have changed lives.

My life changed because of a book I read. So, being able to improve other people’s lives with my books really warms my heart.

What is the one thing that most often stands in the way of somebody becoming a millionaire?Teck Lee, Shah Alam

Many things stand in the way – lack of knowledge or desire, unwillingness to work hard or learn and an inclination to give up too easily, among others.

The wonderful thing is that all of the obstacles can be overcome. You can do anything you want and you can achieve anything you want. In case you have not realised it yet, there is no bumi quota when it comes to money. It is not easy to become a millionaire but it is not as hard as you think. Do the right things and the money will come.

You focus a lot on investing in properties. How have you done in other types of investments? R.S. Kumar, Banting

I have some investments in stocks that are being handled by a fund manager. He has fared pretty well in the past four years, especially when you consider that the market has dived in recent months.

I used to have some money in unit trusts but I sold all of them a couple of years ago. I was dismayed at the high fees charged by the unit trust companies and see no reason why I should be paying such high fees to get mediocre returns. The only money I have in unit trusts now are in the Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB)-run funds. I do not invest in futures, options, foreign exchange, gold, silver, commodities or anything that has the word “offshore” in it. I do not invest in them because I want to become rich, not poor.

Are your children good with money too? Karen Toh, Malacca

My wife and I do guide them about it. They are learning and getting better at it every single day. I’m sure they’ll do very well in the future.

Why is it important for you to continue your career as a pilot?Azman Fuad, Bandar Utama

I fly because I love to fly. Unlike many other jobs, flying is very fulfilling. I still get a buzz in my stomach every time I step into the cockpit and the adrenaline still flows every time I take-off and land. And when we arrive at the destination, I get another buzz because I did it to the best of my ability – bringing the aircraft, passengers, crew and cargo safely to the destination on schedule and at optimum cost. I only do the things that I love to do – write, speak, fly and spend time with my family. Life is too short to spend on things you do not enjoy.

If you can give just one piece of advice on money, what would that be? Jimmie Leow, Petaling Jaya

Do what you love, and the money will follow. Let me elaborate. Don’t go on a blind pursuit of money. Even if you do make money – and some people do – you will not be very happy or live a fulfilling life.

Instead, build your business around your passion, something that you actually love. That way, you can be happy and make money at the same time. And chances are you will make lots of money because your products and services will be of exceptional quality.

I suppose I could make money running a restaurant, a workshop or a boutique. But am I interested in any of them? The answer is a flat no. My passion is books. I can think of nothing better than spending hours writing and reading. So I built my ‘business’ around my love of books.

What sort of luxuries have you allowed yourself? Tina Adam

Not much. All I need is a good breakfast, a good book to read, a computer to write and time with my family. I have all that already.

My family lives in a nice house in a fabulous neighbourhood. We have a few items to make our lives more comfortable but nothing out of the ordinary. I think, the average Malaysian has more toys than me. As I wrote in one of my books, visitors often comment that my house is spacious. My house is spacious not because it is big but because it is sparsely decorated. I call it minimalist decor. We still have only one TV in the house and a 10-year-old mini-compo. I don’t have any branded goods and see no use for them.

I spend money on quality (not branded) goods. For example, my mattress costs some RM20,000. If you’re going to spend a major portion of your life (eight to ten hours a day) on a mattress, the only sensible thing to do is to buy the best mattress you can afford.

You are also a publisher. What kind of books do you like to come out with? Sheela Nair, Segambut

My wife and her team run the publishing business. I basically write and speak (and fly). True Wealth publishes mostly self-help genre. Most of the books are related to money, business and personal finance. We publish both in English and Bahasa Malaysia and we have also bought the rights to a few books from overseas.

I like to read books that are clear and straight-forward. So, I always tell our authors to do the same and to write in a conversational manner that’s easy to understand. As publishers, we try to make the books an adventure for the mind – the content, the layout, charts, graphs, etc. The market seems to like what we do because we have sold hundreds of thousands of books despite being a newcomer.

Do you think it’s possible to become wealthy and not be changed by all that money? Lim Lai Wah, Kuantan

I read some time ago that money amplifies what you already are. If you are nasty when you have little money, you will become nastier when you have a lot of money. If you are a good human being when your pockets are empty, you will become even better when you have a lot of money. And I have found out this to be very true.

Practically all the millionaires that I’ve met are so eager and happy to help others. I myself have received help (advice) from many millionaires. Maybe that’s one reason why they are so rich.

I have changed significantly. The name and the face are the same, but I am not the same Azizi Ali of 20 years ago. It is not the money that changed me but the process to get to where I am today that has led to the change. I had to improve myself on many fronts – knowledge, skill, time and people management and obviously develop the ability to make money. Next, I had to discipline and dedicate myself to my quest; I had to stop partying and start working hard; I had to continue my learning and, very importantly, develop the ability to bounce back because I knew I will face many failures on the road to success. How can one not become a different person after all that?

I do remember the little boy playing in the paddy fields behind the house of his grandmother with a fond heart but my life today is an even better dream. I have everything a man could dream for – happiness, good health, inner peace, a stunning and loving wife, beautiful bright children, a wonderful career, books on the bestsellers’ list and, very importantly, I’m helping others make their dream come true.

a loving and caring family. Embracing Imperfections

a story that makes tears flowing from my eyes.

Embracing Imperfections

I would like to share a story that usefully captures my central message. It is titled “embracing imperfections.”
"When I was a little girl, my mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and then. And I remember one night in particular when she had made breakfast after a long, hard day at work. On that evening so long ago, my mother placed a plate of eggs and extremely burnt toast in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all my dad did was reach for his toast, smile at my mom, and ask me how my day was at school. I don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember watching him smear butter and jam on that toast and eat every bite! 7

When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my mom apologize to my dad for burning the toast. And I'll never forget what he said: "My darling, I love burnt toast."
Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if he really liked his toast burnt. He wrapped me in his arms and said,
"My daughter, your Mother put in a hard day at work today and she's really tired. And besides, a little burnt toast never hurt anyone!"
The message here is that life is full of imperfect things.... and imperfect people. It carries with it responsibilities and compromises. Learning to accept each other’s shortcomings, celebrating each other’s differences, and most of all respecting each other are important keys to creating healthy growing and lasting relationships. And we would do well to heed this message within our families.
Conclusion
The Muslim family should also serve as a place of refuge from the harsh psychological and emotional trauma we have to endure as a result of the violent environments within which we live. There can be no better place for securing comfort than from a loving and caring family. It is within the family context that we can nurture hope and optimism and zest for life. For the family, however, to play this supportive role it would need to be a mature family which would be able to deal positively with internal conflict arising from rivalry among siblings, the generation gap or differences in interest and religious or intellectual commitments. It requires respectful dialogue and communication within the family, not fist-fights, insults and animosity.
In this regard the institutions of civil society such as family counselling and parental guidance centres should play a useful complementary role in assisting families to manage internal conflict. 8

How To Release Your Inner Genius

video at videojug.

video at youtube.

Step 1: Realise the power of your brain

The brain is far more powerful than we think. Everyone has the potential for brilliance. We just need to realise it. Hence, everyone has he potential for genius

Step 2: Make your brain your hobby

Give your brain regular exercise by reading, attending courses or doing research on the internet.

Step 3: Use your left and right brain

The right side of the brain is most often associated with people who are creative, and the left with people who are good at logic and analysis. However, to be truly creative and to use your brain to its full potential, you need to use BOTH sides of your brain.

Step 4: Daydream

Daydreaming encourages creativity. Often considered a waste of time, daydreaming is actually a great way come up with ideas.

Lagi berkenaan laman motivasi untuk dikunjungi.

Tambahan untuk antara laman-laman yang sering saya kunjungi adalah seperti berikut:

Motivasi = Motivation = desire to success
Motivation is a desire to achieve a goal, combined with the energy to work towards that goal. Students who are motivated have a desire to undertake their study and complete the requirements of their course.

Are you a motivated student?

Being a motivated student doesn’t mean you are always excited or fully committed to your study, but it does mean you will complete the tasks set for you even when assignments or practicals are difficult, or seem uninteresting.

pada march lepas, saya post antara laman motivasi utk dikunjungi.

earn hapiness and earn peace in life

as i walk through i find this motivational quotes that i would like to share with all.

The following are some reminders for me and you if you need one.

1. If you want your dreams to come true, you mustn't oversleep.

2. Of all the things you wear, your expression is the most important.

3. The best vitamin for making friends..... B1.

4. The happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts.

5. The heaviest thing you can carry is a grudge.

6. One thing you can give and still keep...is your word.

7. You lie the loudest when you lie to yourself

8. If you lack the courage to start, you have already finished.

9. One thing you can't recycle is wasted time.

10. Ideas won't work unless ' You' do.

11. Your mind is like a parachute...it functions only when open..

12. The 10 commandments are not a multiple choice.

====================================================================

another nice reminder :

The pursuit of happiness is the chase of a lifetime! It is never too late to become what you might have been.

************************

Life is too short to wake up with regrets. So love the people who treat you right. Forget about the one's who don't. Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.

***********************

Friends are like balloons; once you let them go, you might not get them back. Sometimes we get so busy with our own lives and problems that we may not even notice that we've let them fly away. Sometimes we are so caught up in who's right and who's wrong that we forget what's right and wrong. Sometimes we just don't realize what real friendship means until it is too late. I don't want to let that happen so I'm gonna tie you to my heart so I never lose you.

Law of attraction

some people ask and some other people help answering ... :

What does Islam say about "the secret" aka the law of attraction?
I'm a devout Muslim (at least I do my best). I've recently discovered the law of attraction and have tried extremely hard to implement it into my life, to focus on positivity, and on goals I want to retrieve, and by doing so I attract success to myself. It's really helping me better mentally speaking, but I'd like to know Islam's stance on this type of ideology. The following is a wikipedia link to read more on the law of attraction: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Law_of_Attr...

Happy New Years! Peace.

Additional Details
Peace, correction, the law of attraction uses meditation and your belief to make your vibrations (energy from your thoughts) to attract like thoughts which you focus on throughout your day, to attract to you and become a reality. Note that praying to Allah and doing "salah" is a form of meditation. The law of attraction can be used from a Muslim person asking of Allah. There's is no fault in this matter.

How is it like a "doctrine", I perceive it as a mere philosophy which works if applied correctly.

Actually I did watch that one hour film of law of attraction and to me it was the true meaning of Sooratol Ibrahim Verse 24 that reads: And we give you of all that you ask for. I'd always wondered how could this verse be true and to have ALL that we ask for. In this film they call it law of attraction. to me it is the proof that God gives us ALL that we asked for. I loved the movie. After watching it I was so positive that i even cut off the negative cable on my car battery:):) just kidding.

Unlock Your Brain Power Any Time You Want

An email that i got today.

source from here:

http://www.patricchan.name/happiness/unlock-your-brain-power-any-time-you-want

just checking will it make me happy ? how far is it true? scientists say?

let's read through the article:

I want to share with you how our brain works –
Whatever ‘activity’ we’re trying to accomplish for success like to be creative, to have focus, increase energy, affirm positive habits, etc can be accomplished much better at the right frequencies it’s at.
This is the research data that I’ve gathered:
Frequency Range Name Usually associated with:

> 40 Hz Gamma waves

Higher mental activity, including perception, problem solving, fear, and consciousness

13 - 40 Hz Beta waves

Active, busy or anxious thinking and active concentration, arousal, cognition. Most commonly found during our waking state.

7 - 13 Hz Alpha waves

Relaxation (while awake), pre-sleep and pre-wake drowsiness. Most commonly found during meditation and states of relaxation.

4 - 7 Hz Theta waves

Dreams, deep meditation, REM sleep

< 4 Hz Delta waves

Deep dreamless sleep, loss of body awareness

So if you want to be focused but you’re feeling sleepy, then you should get your brain to work at the Beta waves frequency. Make sense? And this is possible with the right brain technology.

It’s not some hocus pocus theory but scientifically proven with intensive 70 years old of research. The technology behind this is called, ‘brain entrainment’ and it’s becoming a very popular ’secret weapon’ for people to be in the best state to achieve short term and long term goals.

In a geeky term: Brainwave entrainment or “brainwave synchronization,” is any practice that aims to cause brainwave frequency to fall into step with a periodic stimulus having a frequency corresponding to the intended brain-state (for example, to induce sleep, being motivated, increase focus, etc). It depends upon a “frequency following” response, a naturally occurring phenomenon where the human brain has a tendency to change its dominant EEG frequency towards the frequency of a dominant external stimulus.

In a non-geeky talk, you now can control your brainwave state so that it can perform at the peak.

If you need to know more about brain entrainment, do a search on ‘brain entrainment’ on Google and you’ll see many explanations and research about this. As matter of fact, CEOs, athletics, entrepreneurs and even students are now using them to gain a competitive edge.

Until now, not many people have the privilege to use this technology because they are unaware of it or couldn’t afford it.

Comment from this site :

Patric, Man - you are really on the ball! This is my secret weapon too; in fact I have the stereo headphones on playing The Holosync Solution while writing this reply. I can attest that you are 100% correct as I have been experimenting with this since January 2006. It totally gets you together into a mystical Oneness. It makes you 20x as creative. And more resistant to stress. At first I did the meditations quietly with eyes closed but now I can finally do it any time - like when writing articles on blogs or on hubpages. Entrainment IS the future!

Shame on you. This could be the greatest night of our lives, but you’re going to let it be the worst. And I guarantee a week won’t go by in your life you won’t regret walking out, letting them get the best of you.

Well, I’m not going home. We’ve come too far! And I’m going to stay right here and fight for this lost cause. A day may come when the courage of men fails… but it is not THIS day.

The line must be drawn HERE. This far, no further! I’m not saying it’s going to be easy. You’re going to work harder than you ever worked before. But that’s fine, we’ll just get tougher with it! If a person grits his teeth and shows real determination, failure is not an option.

That’s how winning is done!

Believe me when I say we can break this army here, and win just one for the Gipper. But I say to you what every warrior has known since the beginning of time: you’ve got to get mad. I mean plum mad dog mean. If you would be free men, then you must fight to fulfill that promise!

Let us cut out their living guts one inch at a time, and they will know what we can do! Let no man forget how menacing we are.

We are lions! You’re like a big bear, man! This is YOUR time! Seize the day, never surrender, victory or death… that’s the Chicago Way! Who’s with me? Clap! Clap! Don’t let Tink die! Clap!

Alright! Let’s fly!

And gentlemen in England now abed shall know my name is the Lord when I tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they’ll never take our Independence Day!
