This is an advance notice for the competition for all the sisters to make preparation. It will be divided into two weeks. The following are the schedules for the Quran Memorization Competition, insyaAllah:

First week Monday (15/06/09)

1. Al-A'la (Surah #87)
2. Al-Ghasiyah (Surah #88)
3. Al-Fajar (Surah #89)
4. From Al-Qariah (Surah #101) till Surah An-Nas (Surah #114)

Second week Monday (22/06/09)

From Al-Balad (Surah #90) - Al-Adiyat (Surah #100)

To make it easier for you to memorize, you may go to this web: www.quranexplorer.com/quran (internet explorer compatible & not compatible with firefox).

I'm taking this opportunity to invite all sisters and strongly encourage you to joint this competition or perhaps listening. There will be a small gathering and award ceremony upon finishing the competition, insyaAllah. I pray to Allah SWT that everyone of us, will be given the best chance to memorize, understand and practice all the orders in the Surahs. Amin.

Maasalama,

Few hadiths to ponder:

Ibn 'Umar r.a. reported: The Messenger of Allah SAW said:"The parable of one who knows the Quran by heart is as the parable of an owner of hobbled camel. If he remains vigilant, he will retain it; and if he neglects it, it will go away." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Ibn Mas'ud ra reported: The Messenger Allah SAW said, "Whoever recited a letter from the Book of Allah, he will be credited with a good deed, and a good deed gets a ten-fold reward. I do not say that Alif-Lam-Mim is one letter, but Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter and Mim is a letter". [At-Tirmidhi]
