3 Idiots
http://www.tubejin.com/movie/3-Idiots.aspx
Two friends (Madhavan and Sharman Joshi) embark on a quest for a lost buddy. On this journey, they encounter a long forgotten bet, a wedding they must crash, and a funeral that goes impossibly out of control. As they make their way through the perilous landscape, another journey begins: their inner journey through memory lane and the story of their friend- the irrepressible free-thinker Rancho (Aamir Khan), who in his unique way, touched and changed their lives. It's a story of their hostel days that swings between rancho's romance with the spirited Pia (Kareena Kapoor), and his clash with and oppressive mentor, Viru Sahastrabudhhe (Boman Irani). And then one day, suddenly, Rancho vanishes... Who was he? Where did he come from? Why did he leave? The friend who influenced and inspired them to think creatively and independently, even as the conformist world called them three idiots. Where is the original idiot now? Finally, in misty mountains of unparalleled beauty, the find the key to the secret. Three Idiots is comedy of ideas that is a provocative as it is funny, as wildly entertaining as it is insightful. A laugh-riot that talks about the most important of human pursuits: self-actualization.

Benefits of Reciting Various Verses of the Holy Qur’an
Some actions are to be performed after the completion of every compulsory prayer and these are called Ta’qibaat. Out of the numerous actions that have been recommended, there are a few verses of the Holy Qur’an that have also been prescribed and carry much reward if recited after the daily prayers.
The following is a list of the verses that should be recited and a note of the reward gained for the recitation of each one.
1. Ayah ash-Shahada (Surah Ali-’Imran: 18-19) In the commentary of Majma’ul Bayaan, it is narrated from the Holy Prophet that those who recite this ayah make a covenant with Allah (S.w.T.) and Allah always fulfils His covenants. If this ayah is recited after every prayer, then Jannah is guaranteed to the reciter.
2. Ayah al-Mulk (Surah Ali-’Imran: 26-27) It is narrated that the Holy Prophet (S) once advised one of his companions, who was in debt, to recite this ayah after every prayer and then supplicate to Allah (S.w.T.) for the repayment of his debts saying that even if the debts are equal to the entire land on Earth, they will be repaid.
3. Ayah al-Kursi (Surah al-Baqarah: 255-257) It is narrated from the Holy Prophet (S) that there is no barrier between the person who recites this ayah after every prayer and Jannah except for death ie. he will be taste the pleasures of Jannah immediately after his death, and only that person will be able to recite it who is pious and righteous.
4. Ayah al-Madhkurah (Surah ar-Rum: 17-22) Whoever recites this after every compulsory prayer will get a reward equal to drops of rain and grains of sand. The Holy Prophet (S) has highly recommended the recitation of this ayah especially during the early morning and evening times.
5. Ayah as-Sakhrah (Surah A’araaf: 54) This should also be recited after every prayer. The benefit of reciting this ayah is that it acts as a protection from Shaitan. It is said that the one who recites this ayah is protected against the plots of Shaitan even if he is alone in the desert.
Other recitations are also recommended, for example, it is said in a narration that whoever recites Surah at-Tawhid after prayers will wed a Hur-ul-Ein in Jannah. It is recommended that Surah at-Tawhid be recited ten times after every prayer and this leads to being forgiven be Allah (S.w.T.) and being blessed with the good of this world and the hereafter.
For the sake of brevity, here is a list of ayaat and Surahs that are also recommended to be recited after prayers:
a) Surah al-Ahzaab: 56
b) Surah al-Baqarah: 285-286
c) Surah al-Kahf: 109-110
d) Surah as-Saffaat: 1-10 and then the last three ayaat.
e) Surah ar-Rahman: 33-36
f) Surah al-Hashr: 21-24
g) Surah al-An’aam: 1-3
h) Surah al-Falaq, an-Naas, ar-Rahman al-Qadr, al-Fatehah, Ya Sin, al-Waaqiyah, al-Mulk, ad-Dahar and an-Naba are all recommended.
Verses to be recited before sleeping
It is narrated that whoever recites [Surah al-Fatir: 41] before going to sleep is kept safe from the collapse of his home on top of him. Imam Ali (a.s.) has said that if a person recites [Surah al-A’araaf: 196] and [Surah az-Zumar: 67] before going to sleep, he will be safe from drowning (if he is sleeping on a ship) or burning (in his home).
Recitation of [Surah al-Kahf: 110] is good for making a person wake up at a particular time. All that has to be done is to make an intention of the exact time you wish to wake up and then recite this ayah before sleeping. Surah at-Takathur is also recommended and the Holy Prophet (S) said that whoever recites it before sleeping will be saved from the horrors of the grave.
Recitations specifically for Thursday nights and Fridays
It is recorded that if a person recites Surah Bani-Isra’il on Thursday night, he will meet the 12th Imam (a.t.f.) and will be among his companions. The one who recites Surah al-Kahf will die a martyr and will be raised with the martyrs on the Day of Judgement.
Whoever recites Surah Saad on Thursday night will be blessed with good in this world and good in the hereafter to such an extent that nobody except the prophets and those who are very close to Allah (S.w.T.) will get a similar reward.
If Surah ad-Dukhan is recited on this night, all his sins will be forgiven. He will get the reward equivalent to that of freeing a thousand slaves for each letter he recites and seventy thousand angels will pray for his sins to be forgiven. The one who recites Surah al-Waqi’ah will be counted from the friends of Allah (S.w.T.). The other Surahs that have been recommended on Thursday nights are Surah an-Naml, al-Qasas and Hamim Sajdah.
On the day of Friday, the Surahs that are highly recommended are Surah al-Ikhlaas, an-Naas, al-Falaq, at-Tawba, al-Kahf, as-Saffaat, ar-Rahman, an-Nisaa, Hud and al-Qadr. All these carry great reward and should be recited if possible. Imam Ali (a.s.) has said that whoever recites Surah an-Nisaa on Fridays will be protected from the torments of the grave. The one who recites Surah Hud will be counted with the prophets and messengers and his sins will be forgiven.
The benefit of reciting Surah al-Kahf is that all sins of the past week are forgiven. Imam Ja’far as-Sadiq (a.s.) said that if a person recites Surah as-Saffaat on this day, he will be protected from all calamities and misfortunes. The one who recites Surah ar-Rahman will have a shining face on the Day of Judgement.
It is also recommended to recite [at-Tawba:128-129] and [al-Hashr: 21-24] on Friday mornings.
Recitations for increase in sustenance
It is narrated that writing Surah al-Mu’min at night and then keeping it in one’s place of business increases sustenance. Keeping Surah al-Hijr in one’s pocket or tied to the arm is also a means of increase in livelihood. Surah al-Qaari’ah should be worn around the neck and Surah al-Waaqi’ah should be recited every night to stay independent in terms of earning an income. Reciting Surah adh-Dhariyaat every day also increases sustenance.
Writing [al-Fatir: 29-30] and keeping it at the place of trade also acts as a means of increase in income. Keeping [al-Jumu’ah: 4] together with your goods for sale brings blessing and keeps the goods safe from damage. Drinking water in which Surah Yusuf has been dissolved (after writing) also increases sustenance.
Verses that help to quickly repay debts
As mentioned earlier, ayah al-Mulk [Ali-’Imran: 26-27] should be recited for those who wish to repay their debts. One should recite this ayah and then supplicate to Allah (S.w.T.) that he wishes to repay his debts and seeks help for doing so. For the same purpose, the last two verses of Surah al-Baqarah should also be recited after every ‘Isha prayer.
The recitation of ayah al-Kursi after every prayer and reciting Surah al-Waaqi’ah 41 times are other means of getting divine assistance in the repaying of debts.

ABOUT CHAS
I first began painting as a hobby more than 20 years ago, whilst working as an electrician.
I took inspiration from the works of David Hockney and John Piper and experimented with different mediums, from watercolours and gouache, before finally settling with bright, bold acrylic. I love the intensity of colour the acrylic gives, often building up 4 to 5 layers of paint to achieve the depth of colour I like. In 1994, I became a full-time artist and began working from home.
I used to live on St George's Quay in Lancaster and whilst painting one evening, a hot air balloon came floating down the river. I took a photograph and decided to use it in one of my pictures. Over the years, hot air balloons have become a constant in my work and people are often disappointed if I do not put any in a picture.
I continue to be inspired by the people, architecture and landscape of Lancaster, Morecambe and the surrounding area. I also have a passion for the sea and for boats. I love travelling to Devon or Cornwall, watching the fishing boats and visiting beautiful harbour towns such as Dartmouth, Dittisham, Salcolmbe, Coverack Cove and Porthleven.
I am represented by galleries locally and also in Devon and am fortunate to have collectors from New York to New Zealand!
As I have a considerable waiting list for commissions, I rarely get chance to exhibit original paintings, but I do have an annual exhibition every November at the Ashton Memorial, Williamson Park, Lancaster showing retrospective work, a small number of original paintings and all the Limited Edition prints. I have been having this show now for 11 years and it has become quite a social event, often seeing more than 1500 people over the weekend.
I also work in local schools, painting murals with the children and doing art workshops. The children love painting and it's fantastic seeing them get excited about colour, shape and design.
I hope you enjoy looking through this gallery of prints and maybe, they will make you feel happy too!

nlp, meta model.. ilmu baru untuk saya praktik
kesedaran .....
===========
Bagaimana mengaplikasikan meta model ketika berdoa?
Langkah 1
Engkau berikan aku makan sedap setiap hari ya Allah. Engkau beri aku ilmu setiap hari ya Allah.
ya Allah Maha Kaya Engkau memberikan aku kesihatan.
Ya Allah, aku solat subuh lambat pagi tadi ya Allah.
Ya Allah, aku marah anak aku tadi ya Allah. Aku marah disebabkan kesalahan yang kecil sahaja ya Allah. Aku menyakiti hati suami/isteri aku tadi ya Allah. Mereka juga makhlukMu ya Allah. Aku berlaku salah dengan makhlukMu ya Allah. Maafkan aku ya Allah.
Langkah 3
dekat rasa nak mati.. adakah aku bersedia?
======================
Mengapa solat awal waktu? Apakah kelebihannya?
Saudara,
“Ya Allah, aku ingin buat kerta dahulu ya Allah. Aku ingin siapkan sedikit sahaja lagi kerja ini. Aku minta kebenaran padaMu ya Allah. Izinkan aku solat lewat”.
PERCAYALAH.
***
Saya masih mengkaji hubungan jumlah rakaat dengan frekuensi fikiran. Semoga Allah sentiasa melimpahkan ilmunya kepada kita semua. Ameen.
amin.........
...

Designing Research for Publication
Anne Sigismund Huff Technische Universität München
It is easy to be paralyzed by the possibilities and responsibilities of academic work or distracted into one fascinating alley after another without cumulative insight. Even when well underway too many scholars sink into necessary details and do not complete the less inviting tasks that are required to engage the attention of others.
Designing Scholarly Research addresses efforts to avoid these and other pitfalls. It is written especially for those early in their careers who must quickly master the basic mechanics of research and publication if they are to succeed as academics, and for those who try to assist them.

Phronesis
In developmental psychologist Robert Kegan’s research he has observed people developing through six stages of self. Other researchers have made similar observations. However, these same researchers have observed a tendency in a majority of people to arrive at a personal ceiling of development that is short of the higher levels.
Most of us simply never reach our developmental potential.
Moreover, Kegan asserts the order of consciousness arrived at by most of us is typically not sufficient to cope effectively with the demands of life in our modern world. Must we settle for a world created and overseen by mediocre minds or is there some way beyond our current species-wide inadequacy of awareness?
Phronesis presents the story of how an ‘alchemy’ that our brains perform in making a series of life-changing transitions may be our best hope for encouraging individual and collective mental development.

Tidak Ada Tuhan
http://www.fuadlatip.com/v1/2010/05/tidak-ada-tuhan/
Seorang tukang gunting rambut sedang menggunting rambut seorang lelaki.

All our dirty clothes and our hands and feet.
Same stream where the crocodile
Drifts and waits for the careless child.
Same stream where we sometimes gloat
At the bloated body of a floating goat.
Same stream where a mile uphill,
The cows do things cows always will.
Same stream with the same old stink,
Nothing else for us to drink.
Same stream where the grubs and worms
Fight for room with a million germs.
(PART 1 and PART 2 together)
ALL:
It’s a long, long, long, long way.

improve Empathic Listening
This technique has helped me a lot and can give AMAZING results.

(7 Habits Of Highly Effective People)
© Franklin Covey & Stephen R. Covey
Nice mnemonic presentation of 7 Covey Principles of Success, because i think i got them:
1-Be proactive (think and get going)
2-Begin with end in mind (big picture end game)
3-Put first things first (prioritize, say no to interruptions)
4-Think win-win (try to help everyone you engage with)
5-Seek first to understand then to be understood
6-Synergize (1 plus 1 = 3 once you use all principles)
7-Sharpen the saw (take time now to sharpen tool to save time in long run).

Do you recognize this phrase? How familiar are the complaints of "How many times have I told you?" or "I feel like I'm talking to a brick wall!" These are the timeless cries of frustrated parents everywhere. Such expressions are all too familiar to moms and dads who feel that they aren't getting through to their children. Yet, parents may be surprised that their children feel the same frustration in talking with them. In fact, children are just as likely as parents to complain that they aren't being heard.1
Most of us would agree that communication is a two-way street. But, we may forget that there's a lot more to communication than expressing ourselves. Sending a message only works if someone else receives it. This is where listening comes in.2
How can parents do a better job of tuning in to what their kids are saying? To start with, we need to realize that, just as communication is more than talking, listening is more than hearing. Children need to feel that they have a parent's complete attention. So, when your child starts to tell you something, stop what you're doing and look at him. Make comments to show that you're working to understand what he's telling you.3
Patience is important, too. Jumping to conclusions, rushing to judgment, or launching into a lecture can make a child wish she had never brought up a subject. Convinced that you just don't get it, she may go off vowing not to approach you again. Give a child a chance to express herself comfortably. In a national survey of middle school students and their parents, more than half of the pre-teens said their parents don't always give them a chance to explain themselves.4 You'll have plenty of time to offer advice. Restraint also increases the chances that she'll take your advice.
Consistency is a key to communication. Good listening habits are important every day, not just when a serious issue comes up. When kids know that parents are willing to hear them out, discussions—even about difficult topics—become easier.5 You and your child won't always agree. Still, keeping the lines of communication open gives you a chance to find out how a child sees himself and the direction he may be taking.
Parents can help children become good listeners. If you're a good listener, it's likely to rub off on your kids.6 As a parent, you will benefit as you find your child paying more attention to what you say. As children become better communicators, they develop skills that will benefit them for life—in school, in personal relationships, at work, and as parents themselves.

You can increase the surface area of a solid by breaking it up
into smaller pieces (see also nanoparticles).
A powder has the largest surface area and will have the fastest reaction rate.
This is why catalysts are often used as powders.
In the reaction between calcium carbonate and dilute hydrochloric acid
HCl + calcium carbonate calcium chloride + carbon dioxide + water.
HCl(aq) + CaCO3(s) CaCl2(aq) + CO2(g) + H2O(l)
calcium carbonate may be used in the form of marble chips.
The reaction rates can be compared using large marble chips,
and the same mass of small marble chips.
The reaction can be followed by plotting the loss of mass against time.
The reaction rate is faster (the slope is steeper)
for the reaction with small marble chips (greater surface area).
Note that the final loss of mass is the same for both reactions.
This is because the same mass of calcium carbonate (marble chips) will
give the same mass of carbon dioxide whether the chips are large or small.
The smaller chips will just do it more quickly.
http://www.gcsescience.com/rc9-increase-surface-area.htm
Increasing the Surface Area of a Solid.
A solid in a solution can only react when particles collide with the surface.
The bigger the area of the solid surface,
the more particles can collide with it per second,
and the faster the reaction rate is.
Ion Analysis : Testing for Anions/Cations
Cations are positively charged (+) ions. There are 2 basic tests for them:
- Flame test
- Adding NaOH (aq) to solution of ionic compound
The following results are gained for each ion:
- Na+ - Yellow flame
- K+ - Lilac (light purple) flame
- Ca2+ - Red flame
- Cu2+ - Blue / green flame
- Ca2+ White precipitate - Ca(OH)2 (s)
- Cu2+ Blue precipitate - Cu(OH)2 (s)
- Fe2+ Green precipitate - Fe(OH)2 (s)
- Fe3+ Brown precipitate - Fe(OH)3 (s)
Testing for Anions
Anions are negatively charged (-) ions and there are many different tests for them. The following table shows the tests and positive results:
Ion | Test | Positive Result |
Hydroxide (OH-) | Add an indicator (red litmus) or add an acid | Litmus turns blue or test tube becomes warm |
Sulphate (SO4-2) | Add Barium Chloride solution | White solid |
Carbonate (CO3-2) | Add an acid | Gas given off which should be CO2 (test with limewater) |
Chloride (Cl-) | Add acidified solution of AgNO3 (aq) | White precipitate |
Bromide (Br -) | Add acidified solution of AgNO3 (aq) | Cream precipitate |
Iodide (I-) | Add acidified solution of AgNO3 (aq) | Yellow precipitate |
metallic BONDING chemistry gcse ks4
This occurs in metals and is when electrons are given out from the metal atoms to make a "sea" of free electrons in between all of the metal atoms. These free electrons hold the metal as a mass together. This is known as being a giant structure.
Ionic Bonding
This occurs typically between a metal and a non-metal (from groups 1 + 2 and 6 + 7 on the periodic table). The metal atom loses electrons which are taken by the non-metal. Therefore, the metal ion produced has a positive charge and the non-metal ion is negatively charged.
- Sodium (metal - group 1) + Chlorine (non-metal - group 7) ----> Sodium Chloride (NaCl)
In the example below, the sodium atom has lost an electron to form a positive ion. The chlorine atom has gained the electron lost from the sodium to form a negative ion. The NaCl molecules are arranged in a giant structure to form the substance more commonly known as Salt.
Covalent Bonding
This is when electrons are shared between atoms. Covalent bonding occurs between non-metals due to the fact that all of the atoms need to gain electrons, so they have to share.
Common substances that covalent bonding occurs in: Water (H2O), Hydrogen gas (H2), and Methane (CH4)

tempe story
the conclusions;;;
Morale of the story:
In everyday life, we often pray, and "forcing" God to give us what we think is the most suitable for us. And if our prayer is not granted, we feel abandoned, disappointed. But, God knows best what is most suitable for us. Never place any bad feeling or intention to God and believe His plan is PERFECT.
When God grants us our prayers, He listens to us,
When God delays granting our prayers, He is testing us,
When God doesn't grant us our prayers, He has a better plan for us.
God is perfect and He gives the best to us. He may give something we do not like and as a human being, we kind of like the nice and the things we want not knowing it may be the thing that is bad for us. So when God gives something not of our wish, take it with full acceptance for God is all-knowing.
Do not despair, as God's love is every where.
"...it may be that you dislike a thing and the same is good for you, and you love a thing and the same is bad for you: Allah knows but you do not." [2:216]
For Allah is the best disposer of all affairs. =)
for me. let me say thank you Allah.... as many as i can. please Allah and thank you.

perihal belajar
Kedua, melalui pembacaan. Ketiga, melalui pengalaman. Alahai… banyak cara untuk belajar jika kita mahu belajar.

* Deputise for Head teacher.
* Leading learning and teaching.
* Providing support and development of staff.
Why should children's development be holistic and how is each area interconnected?
Holistic is all round development Physical cognitive social emotional
Holistic means interconnected or complete; when a child learns to walk they begin to learn about consequences, trip -fall over- get up. Speech is connected to communication which connects to knowledge of the environment etc. By ensuring a fully rounded appraoch a child becomes confident in their surrounding and their abilities.
=====================
Holistic means the whole person, physically, emotionally, spiritually. It is simple when you look at it, if a child's needs are not met it is harder for them to learn. If they are hungry or sick for example they will not feel like playing. We teach as well as provide for them and just generally take care of them and love them.
====
k2d45
holistic development is looking at how a activivity can support a child in all developmental areas. for example
threading( cereal necklaces)
communication and language
* using mathematical language i.e shorter/longer etc
children must be able to understand what is expected
personal social emotional
* sharing resources participating enjoying and achieving cooperating
can take end product home
physical
* fine motor skills hand eye co-ordination manipulation skills
cognitive
* listen to instructions counting adding measuring comparing
THIS IS JUST A EXAMPLE ACTIVITY BUT CHOSE ANY ACTIVITY AND THEN FILL THE DEVELOPMENAL AREAS IN LIKE ABOVE. JUST THIS ALONE WILL ANSWER K2D45. IF DONE CORRECTLY.
..
an easy way to look at this is trying to fit an activity into just one area of learning - it can't be done !!
So for example an activity like making paints up would cover K+U (what happens to the powder paint when you put water into it) CLL new words/language that may come up as you are talking about colours/cause and effect, PSE co operating with others, Phys skills needed to mix paint, pour the water etc, maths (how much water, more, less, enough etc) creative - using imagination what will happen do you think, etc etc.

The importance of play in children's development
the role of play in child development is huge, children learn though play and each toy or object or friend or experience in play helps another developmental stage for example role play or fantasy play provides imitation skills, social skills, imagination skills all this helps them learn and grow. sandpit play provides maths and science concepts eg measuring with the buckets, counting the sand castles, and heaps more. social play provides interaction, cause and effect, engages in conversation skills

children develop at widely different roles, but in broadly the same sequence.
children develop generally in the same sequence such as babies learn to roll over before they sit up for example and children say single words before they string two or three together in early sentences but its important to understand that children develop at different rates, children of the same age may not all reach the milestones at the same time or some might walk early but talk late but they generally develop in the same sequence roll, sit up , crawl, walk etc.

more or less
To most people, progress always means "more." Quite a few worthwhile developments, though, have resulted in "less."
There was once a marvelous invention called the "horseless" carriage.
Then came the "wire-less" telegraph. And now the "cordless" telephone.
Credit cards foreshadow the "cash-less" society; electronic funds transfer systems, the "check-less."
Much progress attended the arrival of "water-less" printing -- better known by its Greekish name, "xerography." (The law of unintended consequences has prevailed. Thus, nearly submerged in a paper deluge, we turn to ubiquitous personal computers electronically networked together. The office of the future might indeed be "paper-less.")
The "feather-less" chicken didn't work out very well, but the "seed-less" grape did.
Some say the "bark-less" dog and the "smoke-less" cigar wouldn't be bad ideas for their neighbors and spouses, respectively.
So, why not the "motor-less" cycle?
Future
In varying degrees, all persons are futurists.
The future is illuminated only by opinion. There are no facts about the future.
Debate is the ineluctable activity of the futurist.
An analogy serves no purpose in speculative controversy except to illustrate an agreed-upon point.
Think seriously about principles. Make your assumptions explicit. Invent a future. Then find a debating partner.
Be suspicious of all utterances that start out in the first person singular. The least reliable source of the common experience is oneself.
You want the common experience? Watch daytime television.
An average is just one measure of "central tendency."
You can drown in a lake the average depth of which is one foot.
Watch those "bimodal distributions." The average American has one breast and one testicle.
People often see in the future what they think ought to happen, not what they think will happen. It is easy to contaminate prediction with advocation.
Surprise-free projections can turn to mindless extrapolation. According to early predictions, all adult women by now should be employed as telephone operators.
"Those who ignore the lessons of history are doomed to repeat them." Taking this literally can be foolish. Time is the great innovator. Consider each option on its own merits.
"We did that before and we got into trouble." Yes, but (1) did we do it right? (2) If we had not done it, would we still have gotten into trouble? (3) Even more trouble?
Don't forget, for every "because-of," there is at least one "in-spite-of."
Thinking hypothetically in the past tense is injurious to the mind. Thinking hypothetically about the future is all you have.
The law of unintended consequences will always prevail.
The futurist must think unthinkable thoughts about social dislocations, about a world without petroleum, about nuclear winter, about...
development milestones
development milestones
Infancy and Toddler (Birth to 3 Years)
Physical Development
(Birth - 1 year) - The development of control and mastery over one's own body in
both gross and fine motor skills is the infant's primary physical task, culminating
toward the end of the first year in walking.
(Age 1-2 years) - The infant perfects the gross and fine motor skills that emerged
during the first year by developing balance, coordination, stability, and an improved
ability to manipulate objects.
(Age 2-3 years) - The child develops increased strength and uses motor skills to
master challenges in the environment, such as bicycles, stairs, balls, playground
equipment, eating utensils, crayons, and other objects. The child is developmentally ready to master toilet training.
Cognitive Development
(Birth - 1 year) - Cognition begins with alertness, awareness, recognition, and
interest in visual, auditory, and tactile (touch) stimuli. As motor development
improves, the infant begins to explore and manipulate objects and develops a
rudimentary understanding of their properties. Infants develop object permanence
toward the end of the first year.
(Age 1-2 years) - The emergence of symbolic thought is central to cognitive
development. This results in the ability to understand and produce language.
(Age 2-3 years) - Perfection of language skills and the use of language to
communicate with others is the principle cognitive task.
Social Development
(Birth - 1 year) - The most important social task is the development of attachment to the primary caretaker, most often the child's mother.
(Age 1-2 years) - The child develops affectionate and trusting relationships with
other family members and with adults outside the family. The child can also be
engaged in simple games and play.
(Age 2-3 years) - The child develops rudimentary relationships with other children,
which are usually characterized by "parallel play," that is play in the presence of,
rather than in interaction with, other children. Children also begin to imitate social roles at this time. Toilet training represents a significant internalization of social rules and expectations.
Emotional Development
(Birth - 1 year) - The development of basic trust, a derivative of the positive
attachment between the infant and the primary caretaker, occurs during the first
year. This is a cornerstone of emotional development.
(Age 1-3 years) - The primary developmental task involves the development of
autonomy, which includes mastery and control over oneself and one's environment.
